EVERGLADES
January 2004

Deep in the Glades
Our first road trip with Black Fly took us to Everglades City and the Everglades National Park. The weather guessers kept changing the forecast from good to bad to worse as it was time to launch. We almost called the trip off but decided to go for it at the last minute. Was that ever the right decision! We ran 25 miles into the back country. Had to make a stop along the way at one of the Everglades National Park campsites. Counting stops, it took one and a half hours to run to our spot. We saw one other boat and a kayak on the way.
